The LA Times printed a story about Hainan Island Province in China today: Chinese
Tree Savior Put Himself Out on a Limb. The story about Xing Yiqian,
whose "cash-for-trees strategy has earned him cult status" on Hainan
Island. He's struggling to save Hainan Island's environmnet, but he's broke. He
needs donations. But most of all, he needs people to stay at his resort.
Here's another story about Xing Yiqian, What
Happened to My Dream, A millionaire bankrupted by environment protection effort.
I've sent e-mail to the webmaster of the site where this story appeared, and
hopefully I'll find out more about Xing Yiqian, and how we can help him. If he's
finished building his lakeside resort, perhaps we can help him with his web
site, or book some vacations there.
